Description
The reader follows the journey of a maple tree as it starts off being just a maple key (seed) falling from another tree onto a log. It lives to be over 200 years old as we go through sets of seasons over and over again with the tree and jump through time. The seasons are mentioned and the author also begins to mention the time frame, sometimes jumping in intervals of 25 years ahead. The maple tree is part of the forest and other life depends on the tree, as well, such as animals that keep warm underneath it and in it’s holes, plus birds that make nests in it.
